Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of The Aetherweave Codex, operated by Brian Crone, doing business as The Aetherweave Codex. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

Age and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for accurate account information, maintaining account security, and activity performed through your account. Do not share access credentials or attempt to bypass account, usage, moderation, or payment controls.

AI-generated gameplay

The service uses artificial intelligence to produce fictional narration and game-state suggestions. AI output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, or unexpected. It is entertainment, not professional advice. You remain responsible for your choices and for reviewing generated material.

Modules and player content

You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant The Aetherweave Codex a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, moderate, and display that content as necessary to operate and promote the service. You must have the rights to content you upload. Do not submit illegal content, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual sexual content, credible threats, targeted harassment, malware, fraud, or material that infringes another person’s rights.

Player messaging

Private messages are for lawful communication between verified adult accounts. Unsolicited advertising, harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, credential requests, and attempts to evade a block are prohibited. Recipients may decline requests, block senders, and report individual messages. Staff may review reported messages and related account information for moderation and safety.

Moderation

We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content and may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or safeguard the service. Publication review is not an endorsement and does not guarantee that content is lawful or suitable.

Subscriptions and turns

Free accounts receive the allowance displayed in the service. Membership benefits and purchased turn packs are governed by the offer shown at checkout. Subscription turns reset at the billing-cycle renewal and do not roll over. Purchased turns expire after one year of purchase inactivity; another turn-pack purchase resets that inactivity period. Purchased turns do not grant creator-publication privileges.

Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise required by law. Payments, invoices, refunds, and payment-method management are processed by Stripe. Taxes may be added where required. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

Service availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, preservation of every AI response, or compatibility with every device. We use reasonable safeguards and backups, but you should download important chronicles.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties not expressly stated. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brian Crone, doing business as The Aetherweave Codex is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Any aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid to the service during the 12 months before the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.

Termination

You may stop using the service or request account deletion. We may terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, security risks, chargebacks, or legal requirements. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including licences already relied upon, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, while preserving any mandatory protections that apply in your place of residence.
